They were crafted of metals harvested from fallen meteorites, and propelled by a modified [Balefyre Engine](Balefyre Engine). The Engine was modified in such a way that the pilot of the craft could psycho-kinetically control how exactly the Engine operated, such as the speed of fuel intake and compression. This was necessary because a Cataphract had little in the way of electrical instruments, and very few options otherwise to control the spacecraft’s flight.\r

The animal is named as such because of its peculiar behavior. At least once a fortnight (Mizar-5 time), the Eloping Dogs escape by unknown means during the night (local time). Each Dog in a roughly 50 kilometer area meets up in a location roughly in between all of them, where they sit together for the night, before they return to their original location by morning. This has shown to happen between Dogs that have no idea of each other’s existence. It is unknown by what means their transportation occurs, but a clue may be found in temporal sciences, as a Dog will lie down and become unresponsive if brought into an [Atemporal Anomaly](Atemporal Anomaly). They will stay in this position until they are brought outside or die.\r

There have been several examples of these anomalies throughout the star system, however, the one that is most relevant to this text is the [Lillux Colossus](Lillux%20Colossus), a silicon based lifeform seemingly unaffected by the alterations of timeflow within [Atemporal Anomaly](Atemporal%20Anomaly) AA-5542 (in the underground [Denmortia Rainlands](Denmortia%20Rainlands).
